Our co-op was developed under the CMHC Index Linked Mortgage (ILM) financing program. Not-for-Profit Housing Association. Our members are active in various community
development efforts through KNPHA.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH SUPPORT SERVICE
AGENCIES
We actively take referrals from a number of different
organizations in Kingston whose clients are in need of housing. These include
the Housing Help Centre, Interval House, Dawn House and the Kingston Housing Registry. The Housing Help Centre allows for
easier "one window shopping" to those looking for housing.
We are founding members and active participants of our local association of housing co-operatives, the Seaway Valley Co-op Network. We are full members of the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada).
We also have informal connections with numerous associations and contacts in the not-for-profit housing sector, including the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association, and the North American Students of Co-operation.
We encourage both potential and existing
residents to become involved in both our existing and new developments through
our various co-op committees.
